ABOUT

Political choice in the UK is on the whole polarised into two political entities that represent either end of an increasingly limited political spectrum. Recently, more political parties have gained more popularity but have little prospect of getting into power on a national level.

An Alternative.

Many are calling for an alternative, something different. A political entity that represents people and not powerful interests working ‘behind the scenes’ that seem to be have hijacked the whole democratic system to work for them.

Sovereignty.

The UK is a Sovereign state. What does that mean?

Sovereignty is a political concept that refers to dominant power or supreme authority.

The method of administering that authority in the UK is called ‘Parliamentary Sovereignty’.

Another emerging definition, open to debate, is that in modern democracies, Popular Sovereignty says sovereign power rests with the people; so in effect we are Sovereign Citizens, who then willingly through the democratic process hand over their sovereign power to Parliament, culminating in Parliamentary Sovereignty.

There is still further debate among academic circles, discussing the nuances of the definition of sovereignty. Until Parliament change that definition, The Sovereign Democrats maintain that by having the choice, the power by voting through the democratic process of representation in our Parliamentary Sovereignty, then it is the citizens who remain sovereign.

It is the fundamental duty of any political party chosen by sovereign citizens to serve as a government, to serve those citizens to the best of their ability. The Sovereign Democrats mission is to protect the safety, security and well being of all Sovereign Citizens of the United Kingdom.
